Notably youthful if already expressive, the nose of this focused Syrah offers scents of red raspberry coulis, pomegranate syrup, pink rose, Schezuan peppercorn, dried orange peel, coriander seed and suggestions of toffee and vanilla custard. It is sharper, more peppery and slightly leathery on the palate, where tannin, minerality and pink peppercorn bring a slightly coarser mouth-feel. The mid-palate and finishing flavors emerge more fully with airing and promise good service with roast lamb and other fatty meats, but this bottling will truly show its best if given a few years of cellar time. 140 cases produced.
